Fishing Club meeting - The next meeting is to be held on Tuesday, 3rd January 2012 at 7.30 pm in the Club. Guest speakers talking on 'Boat and Marine Safety' and 'Caring for the marine environment and fishing laws' by the Coast Guard and Department of Pimary Industry.

Australia Day Celebrations and Lowe Isle Race - 26th January 2012.

CAFE UPGRADE

Discussion recently took place with Grinders Coffee to update our Cafe area in the Club. As part of the deal they will be provding the Club with the latest Espresso Machine and Coffee Grinder along with cups. mugs etc. All staff will undergo barista training to ensure that our coffee is perfectly made each time regardless who makes it. Besides having a decaf blend being available we will also have a medium roast Brazilian Blend as our standard coffee.

Members and guests will also receive a Loyalty Card were they will receive every sixth coffee free. Members will also continue to receive Points on their purchases. A Daily special of Coffee and Cake will also be available.

Our new cafe should be up and running by the middle of January.

SPRAY MIST SYSTEM COOLS THE MEMBERS

A spray mist system was recently installed and has become very popular with the members. The system sprays very fine mist every 30 seconds for approx 10 seconds, which cools the surrounding area. The system will be trialled over the next month and if it is found to be successful it will be extended to include the whole deck.

ABOUT US

The Port Douglas & District Combined Clubs Inc has a strong affinity with the history, culture and community of Port Douglas and the surrounding areas. Today, it steadfastly maintains its traditions of yesterday with strong links to the marine activities of Port Douglas and the true spirit of the vibrant local community in this splendid natural heritage listed destination.

Over the years, the Combined Club or Tin Shed as it is more widely known has grown to become one of the preferred social meeting places for locals and visitors from all around Australia and the world are so welcome.

Come and enjoy the magic of the Tin Shed and the glorious views from the large deck out over Dickson’s Inlet to the mountain range beyond..

The Club is open Monday to Saturday from 10.00am to 10.00pm and Sunday from 8.00am to 10.00pm. Breakfast is available Sunday bewteen 8.00am and 10.00am. Lunch is available from 11.30pm to 2.30pm. Dinner from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: Children under the age of 18 years are not permitted in the Gaming Room under Queensland Law. Proof of age will apply if the staff are in doubt.
